Yujiro from Baki Revealed as Tekken 8's Next Guest Character
After much speculation about the current season pass finale, Tekken 8 has announced Yujiro Hanma from Baki as the final character for Season 3, to the delight of fans at Combo Breaker.
After plenty of speculation regarding the finale of Tekken 8's current season pass, the most unexpected announcement has arrived for a particularly thrilled audience
There's a lot that needs to be said about Tekken 8, and while I say this every time I open an article about the game, the situation almost constantly shifts from good to bad and back again. The game's third season opened with considerable frustration from players after a very promising trailer with the slogan "back to basics," featuring characters that many players have been waiting for. We received a very lackluster patch that more or less sharpened the developers' approach from the second season, which many didn't like at all. But recently it seems a positive shift has begun regarding the game's direction with a patch that more or less limited one of the more controversial mechanics, and not only that, today we're also finding out who the final character arriving this season is.
The final character closing out Tekken 8's third season is none other than Yujiro Hanma from Baki. The announcement itself made do with animated drawings of the character (as befitting most of the announcements for the current season, which made use of plenty of footage of returning characters from previous games), but it was enough to draw an especially loud roar of joy from the audience that came to Combo Breaker yesterday to watch the tournament and along the way, the announcement as well. The new stage that will also arrive during the year is a prison called Subsea Prison, and if it reminds you of a certain stage from Mortal Kombat, you're definitely not alone!
The first character of the season, Kunimitsu, is set to release in just two days, and is already getting plenty of highlights through various content creators who got to try her out, and it seems the excitement is at its peak right now. Are we heading toward the redemption arc this game needs? I guess we'll find out this week, but as of now, the game is seeing plenty of especially exciting tournament matches, and anyone who watched the grand finals at EVO Japan earlier this month knows what I'm talking about! In the meantime, feel free to tell us, what do you think of the announcement? Already excited for early 2027 when she releases? Physically ready for Kunimitsu this coming weekend? Feel free to share with us in the comments!
