World Cup Mode Coming to EA FC 26 on June 4

EA FC 26 will receive a free World Cup update called The World's Game on June 4, adding 19 new national teams and authentic stadiums ahead of the tournament's June 11 start date.

If you've somehow been living under a rock in recent weeks, we'll fill you in: in three weeks, on June 11, the opening match of the World Cup is set to take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The World Cup is a massive football celebration that captures the attention of billions around the world, including people like me who don't follow or care about football at all on a daily basis. So while the national teams are finishing their preparations for the battle over the coveted title, we're getting information about the special celebratory game mode that's coming to EA FC 26.

The new game mode has been named The World's Game and is set to be available on June 4, about a week before the tournament starts. The details about the game mode come via a post on Sony's blog, which states that "Starting June 4, The World's Game update will be available in the game and will provide a new international tournament experience with 48 national teams and authentic new stadiums to play in." Currently, EA FC 26 includes only about 29 national teams, so as part of the update we'll be getting about 19 additional national teams alongside those new stadiums mentioned in the blog, which will be based on the ones where the tournament will take place. While the full details have not yet been released by EA as of this writing, it's reasonable to assume based on previous games that The World's Game will be a free update coming to the game.
