The Next Call of Duty Game Will Be From the Modern Warfare Series
Just before the official reveal, confirmation arrives about what to expect from the next Call of Duty title, with Infinity Ward hinting at a return to Modern Warfare.
One of the biggest games that comes to us almost every year is a new Call of Duty title. The last game released in the series, Black Ops 7, was very weak with unusually low scores, which even prompted Activision to issue a statement that from now on it will not launch two titles from the same sub-series back-to-back. Already then, rumors about the annual title started arriving and pointed to a new Modern Warfare game, the fourth in the rebooted series.
Last weekend, Infinity Ward, the studio behind the Modern Warfare series, published a statement hinting that the next game we can expect from the studio will focus on "what defined the studio." While it wasn't stated exactly that the next game will be Modern Warfare 4, in another post by the studio published an hour later, it was written that the studio is "creating the ultimate Modern Warfare." As mentioned, these are pieces in a puzzle that is still shrouded in mystery—the next Call of Duty game. In two weeks, XBOX is expected to hold its annual XBOX Games Showcase, and it's likely that the reveal of Modern Warfare 4 will happen during it, so there's not much time left to wait.
