Mysterious LEGO Skylines Game Receives Rating in Korea
A new LEGO-themed Cities: Skylines game has been revealed through an age rating in South Korea, suggesting a collaboration between Paradox Interactive and LEGO.
After SimCity was synonymous with the city-building management genre for several decades, and following EA's major disaster with the 2013 title, we got a new franchise called Cities Skylines from Paradox Interactive. The first game, released in 2015, was more or less exactly what genre fans wanted—deep systems where each one significantly impacts the city, complete freedom to do what the player wants, and all with great graphics and execution. The second game, released in 2023, tried to continue the same momentum and tremendous success of the first but did so significantly less successfully.

While Paradox is still committed to Cities Skylines 2, which is still in the middle of its life cycle, we're now getting a surprising report about what appears to be a new game for the series. The game in question is currently called LEGO Skylines and was revealed thanks to an age rating it received in South Korea. It should be said that until we get official confirmation of the details, everything should be taken with a grain of salt, though national rating agencies are generally a "reliable source" and fairly safe for general details like these. Recent years have been great for Lego in the gaming space, whether through collaborations with brands like Nintendo and Sony or through games like LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, which recently launched to very positive reviews. Now it appears the company's next step in gaming is a collaboration with Paradox that will bring us a city management game made of LEGO. Full details about the game are not yet known, and it's likely its reveal was planned to be one of the surprises saved for the summer events—whether as part of Summer Game Fest taking place next week or Gamescom at the end of August, we won't have much longer to wait.
